The BICSc (British Institute of Cleaning Science), founded in 1961, is a body of individuals and companies who support the objectives of the institute in improving opportunities for education, training and qualifications within the cleaning industry. Through the achievement of these objectives the institute seeks to achieve better recognition and status for the cleaning industry and a raising of standards. There are 2960 individual members and of the 8420 registered cleaning companies in the UK only 220 have been accepted as corporate members. Companies who become corporate members are showing their commitment to these aims, their enthusiasm and support for the Institute and their wish to observe the Institute Code of Practice.

Our Managing Director , Mr David Williams is an Associate Member of the Institute. Individual membership is a visible sign of someone with qualifications and experience within the cleaning field.

ISO 9001:2015 is an internationally recognised standard. It is a standard which defines the elements an organisation or company needs to operate and maintain a Quality Management System. Orion believes the accreditation will further promote the culture of quality and customer focused activities that are already the cornerstone of its business. Orions objective is to continually improve its management system and organisational processes to ensure a high quality service is delivered, thereby enabling our clients to have complete confidence. We believe this accreditation firmly shows our commitment to quality and high standards at Orion. It is our aim to use the ISO 9001:2015 standard to ensure that we are doing everything possible to guarantee that our customers are receiving the highest quality service.

ISO 9001:2015 is reassessed annually to ensure it is maintaining its system in accordance with the standard.

ISO 14001:2015 was first published in 1996 and specifies the actual requirements for an environmental management system. It applies to those environmental aspects over which the organization has control and which it can be expected to have an influence.

ISO 14001:2015 is often seen as the corner stone standard of the ISO 14000 series. However, it is not only the most well known, but is the only ISO 14000 standard against which it is currently possible to be certified by an external certification authority.

This standard is applicable to any organization that wishes to:

  • implement, maintain and improve an environmental management system

  • assure itself of its conformance with its own stated environmental policy (those policy commitments of course must be made)

  • demonstrate conformance

  • ensure compliance with environmental laws and regulations

  • seek certification of its environmental management system by an external third party organization

  • make a self-determination of conformance Accreditation is seen as a company's commitment to the environment and its handling of all waste produced in an environmentally friendly manner.
